Installing Google Chrome on Debian Squeeze

This is done quite easily. Just add the following line to your /etc/apt/sources.list file:

deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb stable non-free main

Run your package manager by calling

$ aptitude

and search for a package named

google-chrome-stable

Your Gnome menu entry will be automatically created under section “Internet”. Have fun!

      The sources.list line can be fixed by removing “non-free”. However, the google-chrome-stable depends on several libraries from wheezy and thus can’t be installed on squeeze… 🙁
